Award for Jennie Wood Properties
NEW BUSINESS OF THE YEAR 2006
Jennie Wood Properties, estate and property letting agency based at Galleons Lock, won this year's prestigious 2006 New Business of the Year award at the Thames Gateway Business Awards ceremony on 25th November 2006. Director Jennie Wood proudly accepted the award from television personality Angela Rippon at the event, beating off competition from the many new companies that have been established in the area in the past year.
After the award ceremony, Jennie revealed what she believes has been the secret of her success: "In my time working in the property market in this area, I felt I had developed a pretty good idea of what the clients really wanted from an agent. I know how difficult and stressful buying, selling or renting a property can be. My aim is to provide the most straightforward transaction possible, working hand-in-hand with clients to get the desired result in a friendly but professional manner."
Jennie's enthusiasm for the task she has undertaken is abundantly clear as you talk to her further. She knows that as a relatively small player in the market, her company has to go that bit further to provide the clients with the service they need.
"Our clients appreciate good communication with honest and realistic advice being provided as part of the service. Without the high pressure of big company sales targets to achieve, we are in an excellent position to give our clients what they want, rather than what we want them to have. This approach seems to be paying off, as much of our business comes from word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied customers."
After the success at this year's award ceremony, Jennie Wood is determined to continue with her winning ways: "I'll be redoubling my efforts next year to ensure that we receive nominations in some of the other award categories. It really is rewarding to know that all our efforts are recognised and others appreciate the hard work and dedication that we put in."
